The Murals of the Bicentennial of Peru
By Freddie Armando Romero Paredes. The murals by Jordan Inti Sotelo Camargo and Brian Pintado are a way of paying tribute to them as symbols of the defense of democracy in times when coup attitudes, anarchy and corruption were the daily bread. Graffiti are forms of street expression and urban manifestation of reality, popular culture and the idiosyncrasy of a country. Murals have meanings and behind each mural is a message with feeling, intention and purpose. Many times these graffiti can mean rebellion, they can even ask for a change in the system, in the order of things and in the way in which the issues of the socio-political agenda are resolved. The graffiti artists put their soul, heart and life into every sketch, line and painting.
Both Jordan Inti Sotelo Camargo and Brian Pintado represented the Generation of the Bicentennial. A generation aware of the heritage wealth of Peru's ancient and ancient past from the time of Caral to the most recent times of the most revealing archaeological discoveries. A generation responsible for the decisions and actions of the current times that are carried out and put in place to guarantee the common welfare, multicultural development, sustained economic growth and political, economic, social and cultural stability. A generation committed to the future of the next generations, mainly, the future of our children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. A generation that, if it sets out to do so, can change and improve Peru much more as a country and as a member of the global economy.
